Mary L. Robinson, MBA

Mary L. Robinson, MBA, is a seasoned Policy and Legislative Affairs Manager with over five years of experience in government relations, state and local tax policy, and economic development. In her role, Mary collaboratively works with our specialized teams of state and local tax experts to effectively monitor state and local tax policy, identifying legislative or policy changes that may impact our clients. Through her work in tax policy and government relations, Mary has cultivated valuable relationships with policymakers, key business and industry associations, economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, and national tax experts.

Representing Advantous and its clients, Mary actively engages with pro-business groups and committees across Louisiana and the Southeast. She has contributed to significant research and economic studies, including co-authoring the tax and business climate section of the Louisiana Association of Business & Industry (LABI) LA Driven strategic economic development plan. An emerging thought leader in state and local tax policy, she has presented for national tax  organizations including Tax Foundation and Council on State Taxation (COST). Her insights have also been featured in publications including Law360, Bloomberg Tax, and Bloomberg Law. 

Since joining Advantous Consulting in 2020, Mary has played a key role in business development, marketing, and strategic communications. She has successfully developed and executed communication strategies that have expanded the firm’s outreach and engagement efforts both internally and externally.

Mary holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a concentration in Public Relations from Louisiana State University and earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. She has been a member of LABI’s Emerging Leaders Council since 2022.
