Bob Adair, CMI

Bob Adair, CMI, is Senior Advisor with Advantous Consulting, L.L.C.  He holds the CMI designation in Property Tax from the Institute for Professionals in Taxation.  He has over 35 years property tax experience in 15 states and basic experience in 20+ other states through various positions with Phillips 66, ConocoPhillips, Entergy, Shell Oil Company, and Dresser Industries.  His primary experience includes property valuations, incentives, tax planning, and tax policy/legislation.  Since 2010, he has chaired the Tax Relief for Pollution Control Property Advisory Committee with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.  Prior to retiring from Phillips 66 in 2022, he also chaired the Tax Committee for the Texas Oil and Gas Association and Property Tax Committee for the Texas Taxpayers and Research Association.  He is a previous President of the Louisiana Association of Tax Representatives and chaired Tax committees with the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association, Louisiana Chemical Association, Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, and U.S. Oil and Gas Association, Mississippi/Alabama Division.  Bob has been a guest speaker before national, international, and state organizations, including: the American Petroleum Institute; The Energy Council; Institute for Professionals in Taxation; International Property Tax Institute; Wichita State University’s Appraisal for Ad Valorem Taxation of Communications, Energy and Transportation Properties; National Association of Property Tax Representatives – Transportation, Energy, and Communications; and various state business organizations and agencies.  He has testified on various property tax matters before state legislative committees, agencies, and local governmental bodies in Texas, Louisiana, and other states.
