We are excited to welcome Bob Adair, CMI, to the Advantous Team as a Senior Tax Advisor. In his advisory role, Bob will work with our multi-state Business Incentives and Property Tax teams to deliver our clients the best results.

Bob Adair brings over 35 years property tax experience, with depth in 15 states and experience in 20+ other states, primarily in the downstream, midstream, and upstream sectors of the oil and gas industry but also chemical manufacturing and electric power markets. He also has significant expertise in complex industrial properties. Bob’s experience was acquired through various positions with Phillips 66 ConocoPhillips, Entergy, Shell Oil Company, and Dresser Industries.

Bob has spoken as a guest speaker before national, international, and state organizations, including: the American Petroleum Institute; The Energy Council; Institute for Professionals in Taxation; International Property Tax Institute; Wichita State University’s Appraisal for Ad Valorem Taxation of Communications, Energy and Transportation Properties; National Association of Property Tax Representatives – Transportation, Energy, and Communications; Texas Oil and Gas Association; Texas Taxpayers and Research Association; Texas Association of Appraisal Districts; and Louisiana Association of Tax Representatives. He has also testified on various property tax matters before state legislative committees, agencies, and local governmental bodies in Texas, Louisiana, and other states.

Among Bob’s accomplishments, he has been recognized with the Distinguished Service Award for Property Taxes, Texas Oil and Gas Association (2017), the Del Threadgill Distinguished Tax Professional Award, Texas Taxpayers and Research Association (2015), an Outstanding Service Award, Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association (2009), and the Distinguished Service Award, Louisiana Association of Tax Representatives (2004).

Bob is a CMI (Certified Member of the Institute) – Property Tax, Institute for Professionals in Taxation, possesses a Senior Property Tax Consultant (license #10165), State of Texas. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Business Administration – Accounting Major, Economics Minor and also has an Associate’s Degree in Arts from Tyler Junior College.
