Joseluis Hernandez

Joseluis Hernandez joined Advantous Consulting in February 2026 as a Senior Manager, Property Tax. He specializes in property tax services with a focus on local and centrally assessed tax returns and valuation support. His experience includes property tax compliance, analysis, and valuation work across multiple jurisdictions, with specific experience in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

Prior to joining Advantous, Joseluis spent 17 years at CenterPoint Energy, a public utility headquartered in Houston, Texas, supporting property tax compliance and valuation efforts. During his tenure, he served five years as Manager, Property Tax, overseeing complex property tax filings, valuation analysis, and coordination with taxing authorities. Most recently, he served as Manager, Property Tax at Ernst & Young in Houston, Texas, where he led property tax compliance engagements for clients across multiple jurisdictions.

Joseluis brings a strong understanding of property valuation methodologies and state and local tax regulations. His background includes asset data review, valuation analysis and negotiations, return preparation, and audit support, with an emphasis on accuracy and consistency. He has developed strong working relationships with third-party Appraisal Firms across Texas, enabling effective collaboration and informed valuation support for clients. He holds a Texas Property Tax Consultants License issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).

Joseluis earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Management from the University of Houston–Downtown. Outside of work, he enjoys distance running and completed his third Aramco Houston Half Marathon in January 2026
